Happy Tails!

Do you know what dangers are lurking in your backyard?  Crystal, who lives in Walsenburg, certainly didn't! Her pup, Major, is a 1-1/2 year old mixed breed male who was initially thought to have immune mediated disease. He was originally treated in his home town, but when he failed to respond to treatment, was transferred to Powers ER in the Springs. It was decided that Major was most likely bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider.

He was stabilized then transferred to Bijou Animal Hospital where he underwent surgery to debride the dead and dying skin on his chest. Major lives with Crystal and her boyfriend, who barely make ends meet on entry level jobs. They adore the young pup and needed help to save his life. Major's prognosis for a full recovery is very good and we are so grateful we were in a position to help, thanks, of course, to our donors!
