Dogs in Heaven

"If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went." 

Those wise words were spoken by Mark Twain many years ago, but still ring true today.  And, while losing a pet is devastating at any stage of life, there is something particularly heart-breaking about losing a little one before they've truly had a chance to live
 
Oso was only 5 months old when he died from a genetic condition called Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA) that inhibits the growth of the esophagus, trapping it between the heart and the arch, and restricting food passage to the stomach.

As we get ready to enter our seventh year of operations, we continue to struggle with how to increase support to carry out our mission. 

We know part of the problem stems from the public assuming that if you have a pet, you should be able to afford every level of care and, if not, give up the pet.  If only life were that simple... Continue Reading
